Nathanael's Senior Session - Auburn, CA

Hey guys! Here's a recent fun senior session I shot in Auburn, CA. Nathanael is a really laid back guy and I think we captured that perfectly in all of his pictures.

I think my favorite part of this session was actually his older sister standing behind me yelling, "FAKE!" every time he gave a fake smile at the camera. I laughed every time.

Alice in Wonderland Shoot

I've had the idea to do an Alice in Wonderland shoot in my head for a couple of years now, and I finally decided we were going to throw it together last weekend. We spent the better part of an entire day driving, setting up, and shooting, but it was so much fun! I loved it. We did all of the outdoor pictures in Meadow Vista, CA (at the same place I reupholstered my couch), and all of the indoor pictures here in the studio. Here's how it turned out - (and isn't their garden just perfect for this?)
This was a gigantic top hat I made that Alice was going to sit on. We spent about half an hour getting it to stand up, but by the time we went to use it it looked like this. Fail!
And, of course, I couldn't go home without getting my adorable models a treat. Weren't they perfect?

Hope you enjoyed! :)

Now Offering THEMED MINI-SESSIONS!

Let's talk about mini-sessions. I was chatting with a friend recently who was telling me how she loves the idea of having unique themed pictures of her kids hanging on the walls of her home. Her dilemma was she wanted to spend her full 2-hour session getting good, nice pictures of the whole family together. She wanted all of the creativity and fun of those unique themed pictures, but with less time, money and energy invested.

This got me thinking that other clients might be interested in this idea as well. After lots of thinking, we here at Alisha Hurt Photography have decided to start offering limited edition, themed mini-sessions. These mini-sessions will be shorter, less investment financially and pre-thought out. All you will have to do is book your session and bring your child dressed. We will take care of the rest. ;)

Before each theme, I will give an example of the mini-session setup, so you will have a complete idea of what the look and feel of the theme will be. Here is the info for our first set, DISCO CHIC!

Find out all of the info below, and how you can get yours FREE!

A Trip to SF, & Other Random Things From Around Here

Shaun and I took a trip to San Fransisco last month for our anniversary. I didn't bring my big camera with me, because most of the time when I'm on vacation, I end up leaving the camera behind because I don't want to lug around a heavy bag-full of equipment. I also just like the freedom of using my cell phone and instagram... so that's what I did. Here are some from that trip, and then a few recents from around here.

On the left... this is Postcard Row, where the opening scene of Full-House was shot.
A nice stranger in front of me at Starbucks bought that drink for me.
My anniversary gift from Shaun was a Golden Ticket with our anniversary on it.
Also, I've never seen a bigger carrot in my life.
New prop (once I paint it white), and $40 I found on the ground last week!

Hope you all have a good weekend. I will be back next week to talk about mini-sessions!
